The Department Of Cytogenetics at INVENTTA PATH LABs provides excellent patient-centric care in a setting dedicated to advance experimental study and quality medical education.
Cytogenetics is a study done for identifying the chromosomal structure, location and function in cells. It consists of analysis of cells in blood, tissue, amniotic fluid, bone marrow, or cerebrovascular fluid to detect changes in an individual’s chromosomes. The abnormalities associated to chromosome structure are also observed by cytogenetic staining techniques. Some of the key techniques used in chromosomes study include fluorescent in situ hybridisation or FISH testing to view the changes in chromosomes that result from genetic variations. Moreover, the other way of testing includes microarray testing for detecting chromosome imbalances.
